Homegrown vegan brands have been making a mark on the global map. The latest to join the bandwagon is Indian plant-based meat company, GoodDot. The company has recently entered the US market in partnership with ADF Foods Ltd.
“In the USA, GoodDot will be selling their products under the packaged Indian foods brand, Ashoka,” announced Abhinav Sinha, Vice-President, Strategy at GoodDot. He added, “Plant based meat in a delicious and authentic Indian avatar is now available for consumers across the US at most ethnic Indian stores. Soon, these products will be available widely across many of the major stores in the USA.”
Some of the products that GoodDot is selling in the US market includes Plant-based Lamb Nihari, Plant-based Butter Chicken and Plant-based Jackfruit Curry.
GoodDot is one of the pioneering companies to have started vegan mock meats in India in 2017. The Udaipur-based brand offers ready-to-cook plant-based meat dishes such as Unmutton Dhaba Curry Kit and Eggless Bhurji. Before entering the US market, the company had been exporting to Singapore, Canada and a few other countries.
