Mosaic Commemorates 15-Year Krishi Jyoti Project Partnership with S M Sehgal Foundation and Recognizes Outstanding Agriculture Scientists with Awards.

The Mosaic Company and S M Sehgal Foundation came together to celebrate their 15-year partnership in agricultural and rural development, with a twin-event evening held at the S M Sehgal Foundation auditorium in Gurugram, India. The event also marked the annual Mosaic Company Foundation Awards for outstanding agricultural scientists, adding to the significance of the occasion.
In 2008, The Mosaic Company and S M Sehgal Foundation launched the Krishi Jyoti project to increase agricultural productivity and alleviate poverty for small landholding farmers in India. Over the past 15 years, this partnership has been dedicated to transforming the lives of rural farmers in Nuh, Alwar, Prayagraj, Kolar, and Aurangabad. To celebrate this milestone, a coffee-table book and a video was released, highlighting the accomplishments and initiatives of the project and its impact on rural communities.
Robin Edwin, Managing Director of Mosaic India Pvt. Ltd. and Anjali Makhija, Trustee CEO of S M Sehgal Foundation, opened the event with their welcome note and showcased the fifteen years of Krishi Jyoti’s journey through a video and Jay Sehgal, Trustee S M Sehgal Foundation shares a vote of Thanks.
The Mosaic Company Foundation Awards, which honour agricultural scientists who have made exceptional contributions to the field of plant nutrition, were also held during the same event. Dr. J C Katyal, Former Vice Chancellor of HAU, Hisar, was the chief guest at the award ceremony.
The awardees: Dr. Praveen KV and Dr. Shubham Durgude were honoured with the Best Doctoral Research award for their work in the area of plant nutrition. Dr. Visha Kumari Venugopalan and Dr. Sunita Kumari Meena received the Outstanding Doctoral Research Award for Women in the area of Plant Nutrition, while Dr. Meraj Alam Ansari and Dr. Rahul Tripathi were the winners of the Scientist Awards. All the awardees received a certificate, gold medal, blazer, and a monetary reward.
The event was attended by eminent agricultural scientists from various organizations, including the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Indian Institute of Soil Science, National Research Centres, State Agricultural Universities, Fertilizer Association of India, International Zinc Association, IPNI, CIMMYT, state/central government officials, and industry representatives. The management teams of both Mosaic Company and S M Sehgal Foundation, along with the on-ground rural team from the project locations, were also present at the event.
The Krishi Jyoti project will continue its efforts to improve agricultural development, water conservation, and school infrastructure in rural areas, as it has already made a positive impact on the lives of the villagers. The event brought together various stakeholders to celebrate the achievements of the Krishi Jyoti project and the outstanding work of agricultural scientists in the field of plant nutrition.
